Did not reach the "Blue Cup" until after first light and missed 3 fish over an hour of fishing time, saw a few fish roll and one angler picked up a bright jack chinook salmon.

Will return to fish the tide in 3 hours. ;D

Just got back from the river. Wasn't as productive as I thought it would be. Saw one jack landed and a few lost. Spoke to a few others that said it wasn't the best day today. Absolutely packed with people. It was a total gong show. Scared to see what the weekend will be like.

Just got back from the "Blue Cup" where I fished the incoming tide, I also changed hats from this morning where I had 3 chances and came up empty. The Maple Leaf Hat made the difference beaching a very clean chinook jack, missed one other. Not a bad start for the season as I also rescued a few tins from the river along with 5 DNE floats. ;D

I will have a good supply to sell at the FVSS tackle sale on Nov. 3. ;D ;D

I think I may try the evening bite before the weekend crowds invade us. As well only 5 minutes to the river helps too..

I fished from 3-6 and had no bites. Saw 3 jump just could not get it done, I'm still green so that's most likely the problem. ;D

i was fishing mid river this evening, and everyone around me except another centerpinner was flossing 5ft to 12 ft leaders. (9 people all together) minus me and the other center pinner.
after informing them they are snagging fish, they puffed out their chests and offered me a black eye.

I decided to out fish them with a very short float set up with 16" leader.

They then decided to chase me out of my fishing hole. actually chase me too. because  I "stole their fish"
see I ride my bike to the river and didn't take kindly  the bulls**t

threatened to call the police and they smashed their beer bottles and promptly drove away..
Reported their plates to the cops. and cleaned their mess up.. went back to fishing and lost 4 more fish.

Good thing we are cleaning the river on the 30th of sept... too many broken bottles and beer cans and empty roe containers...
I hope tomorrow morning is better, however it is the weekend....

This is not a fishing report. I hate it when this time of the year the report section is 50 percent fishing 50 percent peoples bad experiences. We really need a new thread dedicated just for this kinda stuff.

Dude don't risk your life over fish.   Just move to another spot, call it in whatever.  I think you are a young guy and not worth it to confront people.

Yes I second Cutthroat22's advice, don't get in peoples faces. You really don't know who you're dealing with. I read a story a month ago in the Province and it detailed 4 young men in Kitimat, BC who had a tiff with another person who didn't like their music. Twas nothing serious until the older fellow showed up with a shotgun and killed 3 and seriously injured the 4th. They still haven't caught this person and this happened in 1997.

So never assume you know what the other person is thinking or what his mental state is, especially after a few drinks. You could be in for the shock of your life, literally.

Strength in numbers...lets set a day, a sat. right after a rain should be busy on the river, all the short floaters unite, lets storm the river and take out the snaggers, rumble on the river, lets get er done!

I have seen the same thing on the river. Then there those rippers who rip their lines every now and then to snag fish. DFO should send out some officers to ticket these people.
