returning member here old time fisher, wanting to learn the proper/correct way curing roe, I recall seeing an ad offering a demo course, anyone recall this ad, any advice would be appreciated Thanks Rockon

I have found an awesome method, seems to work for me.  Bleed the fish immediately upon retention, make sure when you clean the fish not to let the skeins touch the water.  Butterfly the skein, cover it in cure.  Leave it in a jar, or plastic container for 24-48 hours, let it re absorb all the juices.  Dry the roe for a few hours, stick it in borax, go smash fish..

Everyone seems to have their own recipe. I plan on curing roe for the first time this year and I found this video on youtube. Seems simple and effective so I plan on trying it out. All you need is borax and jello powder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JHzmQDCVFU&feature=related

Yup, I do it the same way but I'll leave it in for 3-4 days. Heard guys leaving it in the cure for weeks and it still turns out nice.
