Theres an older fellow who bar fishes below KWB during steelhead season regularly, and I have witnessed him catching fish.
I have tried a smaller bar setup than used on the fraser in selective spots and it works just as well on the vedder as on any other river.
Be smart and dont plop your line inbetween others and things will work out. Just prepare for some fleck becuase there is always the one guy who knows everything out there and he will chew on your ear a bit.
I have landed one jack spring this way and quite a few trout, no big springs or steelies yet. There is always time to tune up the set up though.
I have also witnessed an older gent catch quite a few steelhead while i was spinner chucking down stream from him.
It is relaxing for some because casting all day for some is very painful at the end of the day.
I admire his style on the river and he is very polite.
