Jacks are usually abundant in this fishery. Today was no exception.

Hey Rod, what tide do you normally hit when you go to the lower fraser? I was at the same spot as you casting spoons for hours with nothing but bull trout for the past 2 days :(

It really depends on the tidal differences. Today and yesterday, I decided to hit the last three hours of the incoming tide, as well as part of the outgoing. The outgoing tide has been quite weak in the afternoon, with a difference of only a few feet. This slow outgoing can sometimes be really productive. It also depends on the location of course. Some spots can be incredibly good when the tide is at its lowest and water is just starting to rise. I firmly believe that if you are fishing bait, there's gotta be a tidal current to create a scent trail for good result. If I am spincasting lures, then I like to have several lures that have produced for me in the past, switched between them for different tides and change spots at times too. Today was pretty slow overall, there was a brief moment when a school of jacks went by. The big risers further out are all chum salmon, which are hard to entice.

Hey Rod,
What do you figure is the difference in tide time from the mouth to where you caught that beauty?

Water clarity has degraded significantly in the past two days. Visibility is down to one foot at high tide.

Your not kidding!! Up here in Maple Ridge I would say its less than a foot. Possibly 6 inches.

Water clarity has improved quite a bit in the past few days. I have not been out for over a week but good reports have been sent in recently. The morning big incoming tide right now should be bringing lots of fresh fish into the system.

About a foot of visibility around the Maple Ridge area. Better than the 4 inches it was a week ago.

At least two feet in Richmond, which is mostly due to the big incoming tide I think.

Visibility on Saturday was sitting at between 1 and 2 feet again when the tide peaked.

Recent reports have been moved to the report section.
