Tackle paint

Hey guys. Just got into building my own spoons,colorado blades and inline spinners. Just wondering who sells powder coat paint around here i checked out canadian tire army and navy michaels crafts rona and none of them carried it. Would really appreciate if you knew where to get some besides online. Elsewise what else tipa or tricks are good to produce a tough paintjob to avoid chips and scratches.

Powder coating isn't a spray on and let it dry kind of paint, it's actually a powder ( hence the name powdercoat) the metal often has to be electrically charged for the coloured powder to adhere and then baked on in a furnace till hardened. Its quite a lengthy and expensive precess. And many the special equipment is quite pricy to buy itself (coating rack, compressor and powder spray gun, and the kiln or furnace to heat the metal to melt and set the powder to the metal.).  I would recommend if you want to paint you're spinners and spoons to use nail polish, it comes in hundreds of colours and is cheap and very durable and would be you're best bet for small spinners and spoons.

I usually get it at the Wholesale sports down in burlington.  Not sure if the wholesale sports in Langley carries it or not.

Pretty simple to use, just heat up your lure, dip in the powder and then put a candle or flame to it to melt the powder onto the lure.
Maybe a bit less durable than the pre-painted lures you buy off the shelf but you could always redo it if the paint chips off.

Give Berry's a call. You can also use nail polish. I coloured my spoons with them and they worked like a charm for pinks

x2! Raid your wife's nail polish collection. And of course, the more expensive nail polish the better.
