I'm gonna try tossing some roe this week, don't have any of my own.  Would you recommend those jars of pre tied roe sacs (5 sacs in a jar) or buying your own roe?  Best place to buy fresh roe in the lower mainland for price and quality? Thanks!

Making your own roe is always best, but if you have to buy roe that's already cured then buy Berrys roe, I prefer it over Fred's.

I've bought Fred's Roe and caught quite a few coho on it this year. Looks fine to me and the fish seem to agree.  The Chunks are rather large so I just tear them in half depending on how much I want to use but a small container of Roe from freds lasts me about a day or two and I dont have to bonk some chum just for its roe.

Besides curring my Own roe is such a Pita since I live in a condo. No mess, no smell, no clean up straight from the fridge to the river.... bonus.

i haven't had to buy roe for a couple seasons..but I would recommend berry's.
lasts a decent amount of time on the hook

Dont waste your money.  Spend the 12$ on a few of Fred's coho spinners, at least these will last all day.  Coho are willing takers on any decent hardware..

#4 and #5 blue fox spinners close enough?  I have a few in my tackle box.

i have had a lot of success on the #4 and #5 bluefox, just be careful how you fish them because 6 bucks a snag really sucks

If I do get roe from berrys do you need to wrap in a spawn sacs or can you just tie on with an egg loop?  I've only fished single eggs for trout before

Would rather spend time fishing than fumbling with bait when I get out lol.

many ways to fish roe... i personally open the loop put the barbless hook through the skein and gently pull on my leader, cast and hold on if you have the time i suggest you do some reading on rods articles, and the search function on this forum will help you greatly instantly in most cases. youtube will help if you are the kind that needs to see it to know it.

If you're on a very tight budget roe wise and need to buy some I'd say Berry's is a good bet for cured roe. Tie it up in sacks so it lasts way longer on the hook until you're able to kill a doe and cure your own.
