hello,

 anyone knows or have any recommendations for  lake front cabins or cottages available for rent in and around whistler?

If you go to the Whistler/Blackcomb ski website,they have a central reservations where people put there own cabins up for rent or you can pick up an Accommadatiions BC guide from the tourist info center.

If you mean during peak ski season, expect to pay through the nose....but if you're looking for summer fishing on some of the lakes, you can google lots of good deals in that area in the off season.
