Anyone know of any good ice fishing spots at this time of year in the Merritt area? I want to pull my trailer into a campsite and do some winter camping but I don't know what FSR's are plowed or not. Can anyone advise if any of the Kane Valley lakes are plowed or know of any others like that are accessible? I was even thinking Marquet lake in Merritt. Just want some quiet winter camping with the chance of catching some pan fry's under the ice. Thanks guys. And don't worry I wont be pulling the trailer up the Coq for a few days after this storm!!

marquart will be a good spot as the road will be plowed past it and past lundbom.  just hoping that there is not too much snow in the snow drifts, so you can get into the camp site.  and the kane valley road is a public hwys road that is maintained...again hope you can get into the camp sites.

as for the two spots...i think marquart will be better peace and quiet.  and is generally good ice fishing early or late in the year.  but i hear the fishing is great in the chicken ranch lakes off the the kane valley road currently.

Is Davis, boss, Shea, accessible too? What do you mean by the chicken lakes off of Kane Valley?

i do not think the boss/davis roads are not opened up yet.  they maybe later in the year.

on the kane valley chain of lakes the first few are brookie only lakes and have names like upper and lower second lake, and chicken ranch.  then there is kane, harmon, englishman.....and then the boss davis chain.

Tunkwa usually has good fishing. I know it's not that close to Merritt, but a few years ago in Febuary we stayed in the provincial site and had it to ourselves. Good luck wherever you end up.

I would love to get out ice fishing again. I've moved from Ontario a few years ago now and haven't got out ice fishing since. Where would be the closest lake to ice fish from chilliwack?

Depends how cold it is out and how far you wanna hike. There's a few not too far from Chilliwack, but you're gunna have to hike in Realistically though, you'll have to head out of the valley and probably towards Merritt to find a lake you can drive to, that's thick enough to fish safely on.

is there road access to Robertson Lake? I've fished many lakes around there but dont ever remember Robertson Lake. Also if there is road access could I pull a 22ft trailer into it? Thanks for the info
