I was looking at a couple places online, but they are very close to the large power transmission lines.  I'm sure it's safe,  but thought is in the back of my mind.   :o :o

There are nice area's on the north side too! I have no regrets 6 years and counting.
I look forward to being one of the "old fella's" that I fish alongside several times a month.

Cheap gas price, house is affordable, good fishing and closer to up country(hunting) and if it is for my job and my (City girl) wife I move there in heart beat.

I have lived in chilliwack /sardis, since i was five years old. I have never had a problem with crime until last year, my car door lock was punched out in the lickman rd parking lot. Thus being said i think a lot has to do with timing, when being the target of a crime. Sure the crime rate has become worse, but for me to have one problem in in 33years of living in the area is not bad. Personally i would say the quality of schools and areas to live in are far better on the sardis side of the highway, although i am sure a good local realtor will be more than happy to help you with that kind of information. Rosedale, Fairfield, Promontory, Greendale, Yarrow are also great options, and all very close to some fantastic fishing.

By the way 3 cars were broken into tonight just above the crossing bridge.
And this never happens in other towns in the lowermainland .
