Pacific Angler Courses
« on: March 05, 2013, 07:37:15 PM »

Just wondering if anyone in the forum has participated in any of the Pacific Angler fishing courses and if it was a positive or negative experience for them. They seem like a really good idea, especially for someone like myself who is trying to get a handle on this thing we call "fishing".

I have never personally taken one but have heard good things from people who have, especially their fly tying courses.

Over the past couple of years I've taken three of PA's courses, and now I'm signed up for my fourth. So call me a satisfied customer.

I took a Pacific Angler "Jig Tying" course last year. It was a very good course. The instructor (Dimitri) was knowlegable and answered all questions thoroughly. I would recommend Pacific Angler.

do they have advanced fly tying courses

Hi Dave C,

We do offer advanced fly tying courses for particular styles of fly tying.  For example Andre did a great course on tying epoxy fry patterns this past week.  We are also doing a chironomid fly tying night later in the spring.

We may have a new date for tying Classic Salmon Fly Patterns which is quite advanced and specific to the art of Classic Salmon Flies.  Andre again is the instructor for this and extremely knowledgeable.

If are interested give us a shout at the store and you can talk to the boys, put your name down and we'll get back to you with possible dates.  If that doesn't interest you then perhaps the guys can find something that does.

Also, thanks to everyones positive comments about our courses.  We really enjoy and take pride in helping people get into the sport of fishing.  Probably one of the most rewarding parts of working in the shop.  The boys look forward to improving our courses and adding new and exciting ones.  To check out our current 2013 Course Schedule click on the link below.  For any questions please give us a shout at the store by phone (604-872-2204), drop by the shop @ 78 East Broadway or send me a private message through FWR.
