Does anyone know why they stopped stocking Deer (Harrison) with Cutthroat as of 2009?

To answer the question regarding the stocking of Deer and Hicks lakes.  With consultation with Ministry staff it was approved to switch the stocking of Deer and Hicks lake from Taylor 3N Coastal Cutthroat to FV3N Rainbow Trout as Catchables.  This switch was initiated to hopefully create a more successful family fishery at all times of the year.  This will also help to free up container space and water demands at the Trout Hatchery making our program run more efficiently.  Deer Lake will be stocked with 1000 FV3N catchables and Hicks lake with 1500 FV3N catchables each spring.

Hope everyone has a fun Easter Weekend, the weather is going to be awesome!!  :) :D If you are going fishing remember your NEW LICENCES as of April 1st. ;)

Cheers!!

Thanks for the answer.  Makes sense.

One more question.  Do you guys stock Francis (Harrison) via road or air?

B.

The Sanctuary Pond at Hastings Park was also stocked on May 23rd. It is the new addition to GoFishBC's Fishing in the City program.
