Nice Fish Sr. ( senior ) tv fishing show Two Grumpy Old Men.

Coming soon to a TV set in your city town village or "sticks" ( log cabin )

Had ch 6 ch from Vancouver Is. ( Chek tv is it? ) on for a few secs as I channel surfed up from CBC TV & heard a announcement that a new tv fishing show will be starting in April on that ch.

It is Nice Fish Sr.
The shows will have the old " young at heart " seniors fishing the west coast.
Checked the web & it said the main two guys are the two grumpy old men.
Old guys are not bashful so I can just imagine the emotions & teasing.
Now if one guy lands 4 fish & rubs it in too much with cameras "rolling" ther just may be a case of "man over board".
Gotta keep my eyes peeled as it may be exciting to watch.
Even on par with " Dancing With The Stars "  :D

This must be another Gary Cooper show I presume?
I enjoy watching the Nice Fish jr. Shows because he fishes alot of different locations like his gramps used to before. That is one lucky kid and his fishing resume is more decorated then most anglers out there. I like Gary Cooper cause he tells it like it is.

Nice fish jr is a crappy show, actually not true it shows you how not to handle fish. I saw an episode a while where had a cod hooked in the side and kept it ???

Nice Fish jr. Is horrible....can't watch it. Nice fish is alright, older shows when I was much younger were better. I've met Gary Cooper at lodge up north. Nice guy

Gary Cooper could do a much better job teaching his grandchildren on releasing fish.On one of their shows both his grandchildren fished for coho. It was a good example of how not to handle fish. Instead of stepping in and hepling them they where left to land wild and hatchery coho in a fashion that would shock most anglers. They where obviously a bit young to properly release salmon with minimal handling. They did not dispatch the hatchery coho they put in the cooler. There where fish scales from wild fish they released every where. Not the kids fault I did similar at their age but that was a long time ago and most of us where not aware of the damage it caused.

The two kids caught and retained 6 hatchery coho. As they where allowed 2 each the other 2 where presumably for the third party in the boat.(Gary Cooper?). This is not permitted according to the DFO. Although I know a lot of anglers that would argue this is legal.

Write their sponsors... ask them to support better shows. most of the stuff u find on youtube these days r better than what's broadcasted on tv

Never said I was ok with anything but the shots at Coop get kind of tiring.
We can all catch and release them fish perfectly from our sofa.

I'm glad people are bitching about the poor fish handling. I saw a few of the shows where they drop and de scale wild fish. It does not matter that he's a young guy. He's on tv so he has to be a roll model.

I can C&R them perfectly on the river as well... Like everyone should be able to do to have a license!!!

saw the episode tacochris posted yesterday. i guess getting a tv show done is more important than the wwelfare of wild coho salmon. funny at the end one kid pointed out the released fish was belly up and the other kid kept telling him to be quiet.

According to the DFO what they did was illegal. I sent an inquiry. They did not seem interested in looking into it.   Catch 6 hatchery coho when the 2 kids would have been allowed too keep 2 each for a total of 4. They even said they kept the 2 extra coho for the other angler in the boat.

It is poorly explained in the regulations. The problem is with the word retain. You can catch and retain 2 hatchery coho. That is obvious. There is no definition in the regs for retain. The dictionary gives the definition to keep or have in ones possesion. If you give a fish you catch to another licenced angler who has retained the fish? The possession definition does not indicate you can only keep fish you caught.

I have always thought you should catch your own fish. I know many people do not follow this.

Too scripted.

TacoChris, my understanding is u need to land ur own fish to be counted as ur daily quota. it's a fishing licence, not a fish-keeping licence. they violate the fishing regulations and have no problem blatantly showing it on tv.
