Found this yesterday
« on: April 15, 2013, 08:33:18 PM »

Found this on the river yesterday, I guess the angler thought the fish was a hatchery hiding in a wilds skin?

Would take a fair bit of effort to skin a fish like this I would think as the skin was fully intact accept for the head area and pectoral fins. Brings a whole new meaning to fought like a wet sock...

Sad sight.... sadly I seem to find or catch someone poaching steelhead every year..

Also people need to learn how to read the regs and if your fishing a river that requires you to have a steelhead tag at this time of year, you need it.... You cant just say I'm fishing for trout and crush budwisers and litter the river like the POS you are.

I said a fisherman as it was only the skin left literally and it was the entire body just behind the pectoral fins. There were no punctures from birds or tear marks from teeth or claws. Also the skin closest to the head it looked like a knife was used to cut the skin as there were numerous lacerations to completely circle the fish. It was actually like a sock and after I took a pic of it I tossed it back in the river and the tail area had some air trapped in it and it floated around the pool for 10-15 minutes before the current pulled it down stream. I was thinking some douche bag figured he would rather get caught with a skinned fish rather than with a wild by another angler or a CO. joshhowat I seen the same guys I think on saturday they were wreaking of beer and leaving empties on the hike in and it was only like 10am when I seem them. I didn't see any cans on the ground during my hike in, only in the hike out after they came in. They were in a black ford F150 with a black canopy like a 2010 model both of them were Russian or some European descent judging by their accents.

I can tell u first hand that fish was skinned and taken. If you turned it inside out you could see it very clearly.

Johnny Canuck. See what happens when you drive your jet boat up the Vedder. The fish hear/see you coming and jump right out of their skin. Lol.

There is other rivers than the Chilliwack system, and like I said I only go up it in JUNE not while it is open for fishing!
