It was, statistically, the most epic 3rd period meltdown/blown lead in NHL history.
Good to see the Leafs push it that far though. The more Canadian teams making noise the better, I say.
What will be interesting to see is if the Leafs can build on this.
Even the first round (as well all know) is EXTREMELY hard to get past. This league is full of parity. It is not easy to keep improving.
Just making the playoffs is a dogfight. The Canucks were 5 points from missing the playoffs, the Leafs, 6.
The Canucks had just two more wins than Columbus, who missed the playoffs. The Leafs had just two more wins than Winnipeg, who also missed out.
With re-alignment, its going to be tougher.
