Now that the steelhead season is over for most, how did you guys fair?

As for me, I only managed to hook 8 and took 2 hatcheries ( 1 let go because it was too early ) and 5 wild.

That is going out almost twice a week for the duration of the season.

It was so so this year. Lots of fishing for the one or two bites per day. Some day notta, other days 4 +. Killed 5 hatchery, let almost as many go. Prob got 20 or so wilds to the beach. I figure about 30 plus fish in as many days on the water. Prob averaged out to 1 per trip. Nothing like the last 2-3 seasons fishing was easy for multiple hookups. Hope next season the numbers are up. Time to go wash up the boat and gear to hit the saltchuck.

Among 12 trips, 8 fish hooked and 3 hatchery...All released.

All 8 fish caught on 3 days, 3+3+2...empty hand for rest of trips.

9 hooked and 3 wild landed. Lost track of the number of trips but at least 40 be they only 2 to 3 hours long in most cases.

48 trips, 55 fish! Well over 50% of my trips were only 1-3 hours long.
Was a tough year overall, but we had some great days, along with some weekends of very tough hiking for only a couple fish.

Best day between me and the girly was 12 fish.
She was 22 fish for 26 trips... not bad for her first year ever fishing  ;D

I found there to be a lack in hatchery fish. Wilds was on par with normal, but not so many hatchery fish. With the number of days fished compared to last couple years, and sitting almost 40% less fish, but fishing 10+ days on what I did last year, makes you wonder where all the fish went. Still good fishing, but it can always be, and has been the last couple seasons much better.

Fished at least one day a week for the season.Ended up hooking 30 and landing 15, of which 3 were hatch and 12 were wild. Not bad for my second season chasing steel.

About 20 trips to the vedder,  20 fish landed, two hatchery fish, and few bull trouts. Could've been better but nothing to complain about. Beats staying at home.  :-\

Fished the Quinsam River on the island about 12 times, hooked 9 fish, landed 6 fish, 4 summers, 2 wild which one was 20lbs so that made my season. Fished a couple of hrs. when on the river. Did I mention the hordes of cutthroat in that river now.
