the armpit of the v goes around the small metal circle, the short flat pice of the spring fits under the metal clip

Yeah...I took it off to clean the reel. Im still trying to figure out where the V spring is supposd to go? I tried a few things. Is it supposed to put tension on the spool release?

Thanks

Yup, looks like it's from the spool release. Do you have a better picture of the cap?

It looks like the v shape spring is seat behind the spool release lever.

That v spring is seat behind the spool release lever. Its act like a return when the lever lock on to the spindle.  You need to install its back on or your spool will fly off like a frisbee . ;D  Good luck

Hi, I'm kinda stabbing in the dark but does that brass bit in the pic rise up a bit? If it does, your latch must have a hole in it, that fits on the brass bit.

The latch will only go one way, to catch the "slot" on the center pin. Once you get the orientation conquered, then the hair spring will fit outside, between the latch and the latch cap that is not in the pic, to allow the latch pin to move in and out with the hairspring making tension. You'll need to align the spring to fit inside the cap, as I see one arm is longer than the other.

In other maker's reels, the longer arm goes aganst the latch. Maybe not so with yours.
Hope this helps.  KD.

PS: Several posters above have said much the same, so I'm not pulling a fedex, just _expanding_ on the above methods.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNCrMEOqHpc

hey guys. Been busy. I figured it out. The spring goes inside the cap and puts pressure on the spool release. It rests between the spool cap and the spool release
