Went out to No. 5 Rd yesterday from 3-4pm, just trying to kill some time before I had to pick up my kid from daycare. Saw some risers and jumpers but no takes. Gonna try the Ladner side today.

There are a number of places to find this information - I have been looking at the notices to try to figure out when it will end.

You can look at PSC - News and Announcements: http://www.psc.org/news.htm
Look under Regulatory Announcements - August 29 & Sept 3 are the most recent.
August 29 talks about Areas 29-6, 29-7 & 29-9 - all at the mouth of the Fraser.

Both Aug 29 & Sept 3 say "until further notice".

See area maps here: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/maps-cartes/areas-secteurs/index-eng.html
Click on the individual areas to see more detail.

All of the PSC announcements say to refer to DFO notices for more information.
The DFO announcements can be found here: http://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/xnet/content/fns/index.cfm?pg=search_results&lang=en&ID=recreational&Year=2013
You can also go here: http://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/xnet/content/fns/index.cfm?pg=search_options&lang=en&id=recreational

FN 0838 talks about openings in Area 12 & possible future opening in Area 13 so it doesn't look like it will end soon.

Out from 7-10am, Skunked! Not much action between 10 people. Very slow.

is it just me or are these fish abnormally tight lipped? there has the be schools of hundreds of fish in front of my, i can feel my spoons and jigs bouncing off fish, but no hits.  Unless strikes are very soft.

Try setting your hook when you feel that "bounce".   That's the only way to find out if that "bounce" is actually a soft bite.

Thanks Easywater. Looks like no end in sight to the commercial fishery for now.

Can someone clarify this one: http://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/xnet/content/fns/index.cfm?pg=view_notice&lang=en&DOC_ID=153630&ID=commercial

Does that not mean commercial ends tomorrow?  At least for this notice?

I got into about a dozen fish yesterday.

Let your lure hit bottom.  Slow retrieve.  Seems like the pinks were just mouthing the lure. No real hit at all.  Just feeling tension on the retrieve.   All were hooked in the top or bottom of the mouth.

Very strange this year. They are definately not striking hard .

What are you using? spoon?

I was thinking of just letting a jig drift under a float and see how that does, or cast with an attractor. If they are soft biting, the float should detect all. I hammerd them that way in the squamish earlier on.

Access is restricted to those notices - you have to sign up to have access.
You can access the same notices through one of the links I put up earlier.

This one does mention that the opening ends Friday - the first I've seen it in writing even though others have mentioned it.

I guess we will find out tomorrow.

I fished Surrey area yesterday 6:30 to 8:30PM. Very slow. Only one fish among about 20 rods. Where are the 24 millions?

I doubt a small spoon can get bottom easily with the Fraser current. If it is too big a spoon, pink will ignore it. I guess it is a buzz bomb or zzinger. These are heavy enough to sink even in 2 to 3" size.
