Sandman, the steelhead was measured 31cm, next time when I release a under size one, I will let you know so that you can catch it later.

I notice you took down the photo of it next to a tape measure?

BTW, Steelhead and Rainbow are two different species of the trout family. Correct??  ;)

Both are the same species Oncorhynchus mykiss

Not sure how people thought that looked like a hatchery Chinook lol...

For someone who has a signature that says "always a student" that was pretty condescending.

The tail is covered in spots top to bottom - for many people, that means it's a pink or chinook, because they've never caught a steelhead.

Might want to remember what it was like to be a newer angler before you climb up to your ivory tower next time.   ;)

I work on Annacis island and our admin staff looks over the river. No one has seen a pink roll in the last 2 days

I am looking at it right now.. nothing out there. Has been nothing all day. I don't think I will even bother taking my fishing rod out of the trunk to try and I am here already!

I might go wading for lures though.. there is one old piling a few feet out in low tide that I have seen at least a dozen people lose lures on. I could get my supply up for 2 years from now...

PS. I have seen a lot of people mention that some later runs happen on the north side of Richmond. Is that worth checking out?

Is there even such a thing as a hatchery chinook?

Hahah I am hardly on an Ivory Tower but ya it was a bit condescending, my bad.
