I hear the leafs are better golfers than hockey players. Following in the footsteps of the canucks.

Leafs won but barely.
It was a close one.

Kessel smashed his stick to pieces at the bench & think it woke up his teammates to play a full 60 minutes.
Sujj. a trade of any 2 Canuck players for Kessel.

Next move is trade entire team to NYC for the Rangers.
Another swap.

2 home losses with no offence by the Canucks.
Where were the hits ?
Where was going to the net?
4 pts would of gotten the team within 2-3 pts. from a play-off position.

Think the team has gotten too old plus young players are just up & down washy washy players.
Their mental state seems to play just good enough to miss the play offs & have a long Spring & Summer off & cash their cheques.

If I were pres. of the NHL ya put in the contracts; lose the game & your $ for that game is 50% chopped.
Win the game & the player gets his normal pay plus 50% extra!!!

Somehow think that would clear the fuzzy mental state & light a fire under their butts.
Think in reality they just do not want to hit & work hard,go to the net & look for rebounds. Lazy team. Boo.

What are you smoking Chris ? World beaters ? Blowing a two goal lead in the 3rd period. Boston started their backup. Too bad Columbus also won. :D

Toronto's Bernier out for at least 3 weeks with a MCL strain. Their hopes now lie with James Reimer.

OK we have a number of NHL teams in Canada.

Montreal,Toronto, Ottawa,Winnipeg,Edmonton,Calgary & Vancouver.

When was the last NHL team from Canada to win the Stanley Cup.

Was it Montreal Canadians in the early 1990s ?
Something like that.
Before that in the 80s Calgary won it & the Edmonton Oilers took their share.

But basically for 20 or more yrs Canada has had not one Stanley Cup team.

When team Canada plays they normally do quite well.

Personally think it's time for Canadian NHL teams to load up with 95 % born in Canada players & maybe 5% other.
Players on the teams just may play with that extra heart to win the cup, when they are born in Canada. Kinda like  " Let's bring the Cup home boys. "

Too many European player etc want the big "bucks" & an early exit from the play offs or miss the play offs means a nice 4-5 month holiday.

Load the Canucks with Canadian players,& a Canadian coach & GM & something tells me this team will be a lot more hard working than the team we have now.
Do the same with the other Canadian NHL teams & something tells me the Stanley Cup will be won at least every 5 yrs. ( by a Canadian hockey team )
Takes heart to press on to go far into the play offs. Team full of Canadians will have "heart".
It is drilled in them from a young age.

Laughs 3-0 defeat to Tampa Bay coupled with Columbus' overtime win means the Make Beliefs are out again. FORE
