Can you possibly share some of the concerns that you will bring up Chris?  Very interested.

Bill C-38 and DFO cuts are a good start, but unless you're planning on starting an Oil and Gas company I'm not sure he'll listen... or he might listen, but those that make the decisions (the PMO) won't.

Never hurts to say something though.

Curious about the timing and reason for the meeting Chris. Any thoughts?

Will give a recap after the meeting as FVSS president Dean and vice pres. Nick will be doing most of the talking as I will chair the meeting.

If one does not try to share concerns with your MP about the state of our fishery nothing will definitely happen, all we can do is try.

-- may be a poor example as a lot of the fish are hatchery but a comparison with the amount of effort and resultant sockeye fishery on the Columbia.. mostly USA dam money to allow passaged and First Nations co-operation all the way to Penticton. The Penticton band and Okanagan Nation have a fisheries biology department with several Biologists.  10 years of studies of Skaha and continuing and cooperation with local fishing clubs and BCWF fisheries committe.
--Not saying everything is rosey but at least dialogue and cooperation ongoing. Involvment of the community. An example last year with a sudden die off of sockeye in Osoyoos...lots of dead fish washed up on the town beach in mid tourist season. Mayor helped clean up the beaches and gave a positive spin on the abundance of fish rather than complaining about the inconvenience.

--As I said results may not be to everyones pleasure but the main message is constructive dialogue between all of the parties. From an outsiders point of view seems frazer valley is more confrontational

--As hard as it may be I always try to start a meeting with a bit of sugar so if you can start with something they may have done right before telling them what they did or are doing wrong.
