Cap June 6
« on: June 06, 2004, 07:23:55 PM »

Hit the cap today for a bit this afternoon, saw alot of cohos in the pools but didnt hook any, but on a much more exciting note, i hooked into something big, thought at first it was a snag, then it moved so i thought maybe steelhead, got it up to the surface only to discover it was a 15-20 pound spring!!!! played it for a minute until it turned its head and snapped my 8lb leader

I wasn't going to go today but went anyhow.
I don't catch any fish today but still had a very good outing.
I havn't posted any pictures for awhile so this will be a picture show.

Started out at Dogleg pool this morning and it was full of guys so I decided to take a few pictures till they left.

Here's a shot looking upriver.

While I was waiting I saw a couple of steelhead in the river and tried to get some good shots. Not all turned out because I just got this new camera and it may take me awhile to figure out the water shots.

So anyway here's the steely shots.

This ones the male.

This is the couple

Another couple shot

Three's a crowd as you can see a smolt hanging around.

After that I started fishing and didn't get a bite. The guy next to me had gotten one early and was now watching for fish coming up the rapids. I started to watch and sure enough you could see them scooting up every now and then.

Got bored so I took a few shots of the dipper.

Fished some and got bored and started to balance some rocks.

Then I went for a hike and took this nice shot off the pipeline looking downstream.

Circled around and hit dogleg from the east side and saw about 15 coho swimming around in the pool. Got one good take but no actually hookup.

Went up to Cable pool and watched for awhile and a guy got a steelhead.

Saw a few coho swimming around but no one was catching, so it was time to go home.

Loose Lines and Dull hooks.
Leave them all for me.

I've actually balanced rocks for years. Just like the guys in Stanley Park.
The bigger ones are easier to balance. It takes some practice and it kills time at the beach.
