Stolen: Shimano Calcutta & Tackle Box
« on: October 21, 2013, 10:10:12 AM »

Had my truck broken into Saturday night down town (Gas Town area) - from Langley, was going up to to Capilano Sunday Morning.

Had everything hidden away but the crack heads got everything.

Among the items stolen was fishing gear in a backpack. Doesn't hurt to post on here I guess.

Dakine Helipro Backpack

Plano Burgandy "Magnum" Tackle Box crammed with probably $300+ worth of gear

Shimano Calcutta 400 Reel, with minor rash and 20lb mainline, in blue neoprene cover.

That sucks. Anything stolen down there ends up on pawnshop shelves or crackhead blankets in no time...

You bet - I went to the crackhead flea market at pigeon park on Sunday to try to buy back my gear to no avail. Tried calling pawnshops but all their numbers are disconnected. That area is a black hole.

You might want to go down there on the weekends. The city is it's wisdom decide to close one block of Carroll so street people can sell stuff they pick up from the dumpsters. Worth a try.

Yeah, I cant believe the city did that. I like your line about the dumpsters - I went down there and it seems many people in Vancouver are throwing away some pretty nice things like expensive luggage and high-end mountain bikes (and now likely some fishing gear).
My buddy got broken into a couple months back and had a bunch of stuff stolen. He went down there hunting for it, and to his surprise, he found it and the thief who stole it and promptly re-claimed it all back, without having to bonk the parasite who ripped him off.
The whole idea of that market makes me sick. Good luck in the hunt, Drubu. I hope it re-appears for you.
