Better bet would be stave currently, stave has lots of chum.

No boat needed, but it is a 15-20 min hike. Lots of chum and some coho. Harrison is another good bet but a boat would be needed.

I don't mind the hike my only concern is how do I find this spot ? Would there be lots of cars there or something? It would be my first time going to stave so I would not know where to go

I'd say this is an off year for Stave Chum.  No you don't need a boat.

I was reading on Rodney's article it says shore access is difficult best bet would be a boat it says

He means "off year" as in the fish aren't there yet, I believe they are late like most salmon species. Shore access is possible, you just need to be willing to hike for 15-20 min. You can fish both sides of the river(west and east), I have only been to the east. You go up Hayward Street in Mission, up to about Keystone Ave and you will see all the cars parked. From there, I would suggest following somebody in to the river(waders are highly recommended). Or you could just follow the path across the marsh to the river. I went once last year, it was my first time, I had no problem getting to the river, bear spray is a good idea. Let me know if you have any more questions.

For just chum, the stave is a much better choice. For coho, I would hit the vedder. x2 on what ninez said, try em both, lol can't go wrong.

The number of chums at the Stave this year is much lower than previous years and there seems to be more anglers than previous years.  You will have to work harder this year for them but it is possible to catch them.  Stave and the Vedder are so close that you can do both rivers in a single day.  As for parking, you'll have no problems find them by just looking at where other people are parking (legally) along the side of the road.  As for spots, there are tons of people in all the spots so just join the crowd.

Lots of fun at the stave there's chum throughout the system, try drifting some purple/pink jigs and you won't have any problems catching dogs all day hope you enjoy cheers. 8)
