Fall is a good time for sea-run cutts. Make sure you, when fishing other times of the year, identify what's a steelhead smolt vs. a trout. I've hooked a number of smolts in there, not trying for smolts (of course.)

Vedder isn't done and far from it. I was there today and between us 3 we took home 11 coho, released 4 coloured ones and 13 wilds and missed more strikes then we want to admit.

Your obviously fishing the wrong type of water

Nice lots of coho!
but you can look for a spot and find one. for me is I can not do that since I don't drive but at Keith Wilson the other float fisherman was not catching either unless the guys with the float raised right up and a big leader

BTW I was out with Hook and we hit all our fish with 4 to 5 feet between float and bait.  just look around and you will find fresh fish, and not feel the need to long line them!  Persistence pays off.  I got 13 myself in the morning!!! and we weren't far from the KW Bridge ;)
