Squamish River cutties

Yesterday I was exploring the Squamish River (water is very, very low) and found a side channel (not a tributary) with a deeper pool that seemed to have an endless supply of large cutthroat trout.  I found this odd as I have never caught a cuttie on this river.  Water was clear enough I could see them very aggressively attack my small spoon.

I'm curious to hear other anglers experiences with cutthroat on this river.

I have also found a spot like this in the lower is part of the river catch them like crazy on flys and crocs

Very rare, but we came across a school like that about ten years ago too.

Yes enjoy the day! It happened to me twice in 7 years of fishing that river a lot when I lived in whistler. It was such a treat when it happened.

That seems to be how cutties are in many systems. They move around a lot, so although they are there somewhere, finding them can be next to impossible most days. Only on that perfect day, when everything aligns, do you actually get to see 'em.

You guys were right as I went back exactly 1 week later and the cutties have disappeared.
