Stave
« on: November 04, 2013, 09:18:33 AM »

Fellas,
Some well meaning advice from you guys please; Is it still worth the while fishing at the Stave River at this time and if so where should I try to get a parking spot that is legal if I am willing to walk. I have not been there for years now and so with construction work and so on, I might need some good direction from you guys. Thanks in advance.

Lots of chrome chum still rolling in. I was there yesterday and hooked many that were very bright.

Fresh fish all over the place. Coho yesterday had lice on them still.
Parking depends on a few factors like what kind of water etc your looking for or how far a walk your willing to do.

Drive around, legal safe parking is easy to find as is river access from either side.

Tough part may be getting away from the rippers flossers and people with little understanding of etiquette and manners, even I have a hard time with that recently.

Thanks guys; I think I hear you loud and clear and will go prepared. Walking is part of my fishing trip and I enjoy that too; crowd might be a different issue but I'll go with a healthy attitude. Thanks again.

Went with my old man and a buddy yesterday. Was there for a couple hours, between us 3 we hooked into quite a few fish. Enjoy the sun, and get out there  :)

I would say yes. You will be more appreciative wearing them, rather then not.

If it pisses down like last Saturday, go with the waders.  But if its a warm sunny day you can get away without.

Yes there will be, not sure how many fresher ones though, but with the rain all week I wouldn't be surprised to see some around. Most will be deep into spawning and looking for some rest lol though.

Saturday is November 9th... Hmm, there won't be any chum salmon in the Stave River then unfortunately.

They'll all be in Chilliwack, at the used fishing tackle swap meet because that's where all the good spoons, spinners and jigs will be.
