Fishing Painting

Thought I'd post this as some of you on here might appreciate it.
It's not the greatest picture... and as always, things look better in person rather than a photograph.
Kitty decided to take another painting course this year, and decided to focus on paintings based on pictures of us.

This was the first one she did earlier this year...


This is the picture that she based her painting on:


Hopefully you all enjoy it as much as I do. She has also done a couple others, so I may update this thread if I take pictures of some of those as well!

Wow! Kudos to her. It looks fantastic! If I was to paint that... You would be a stick man and not able to tell you were fishing lol. Great job though, it's very well done!

Glad you finally posted this Dan ... gorgeous painting by an obviously very talented young lady!  Best to marry her so when she's famous she can keep you supplied with tackle, lol!

The painting is vastly more appealing than the photo - and that's saying something, as it's a beautiful photo!

I really love the movement in the painting, and the tones and colour contrasts she used.

Kitty has got some serious talent, Dan, make sure she stays on it if she enjoys it!

Dang!  I guess it is too late to ask if I could paint that one.  I was thinking of a watercolour myself.  She has some skill.  I love painting water, as it is a very challenging subject.  What were the dimensions of that one?

Thanks for posting both photo and painting. Both are lovely in their own way. I do a bit of art work myself and can appreciate other people's talents. She needs to continue.

My sister, who is a noted artist, has been asked the same question many times. Her reply is always the same... "Fourty years"
That is as long as she has been studying art and improving her technique. Picasso could complete a simple piece of priceless art work in a few minutes, but it took him years to learn how to do so.

Meaning what?

The gal has talent and she needs to continue and do more. She obviously has a good eye knows about composition. The photo is also excellent and could be cropped to just the angler with its lovely back lighting.
