Fished all day and hard with nothing to show and then decided to check out one last run on the lower river to fish for 20 mins before heading home to Van. Hit this beauty on some metal. Haven't checked if my headphones still work.

Best conditions of the season so far and you didn't fish?

Went to the river on the 22nd. Arrived at 9 am and my 6th cast on a jig fish on. Didn't see any flashes and it popped off about 5 seconds later. Fished down half the run and there was a guy fence posting but I didn't want to bother him so I just left it and moved to a different run. As I was climbing up to the car, I took a look down at the run. Since the water was very low and clear I took a close look and I could see the entire run stacked with coho. Guess that's what took my jig. Looked closer at the guy fence posting and it looked like he was standing there just trying to floss them. Moved on, fished about a kilometer stretch of river and my friends hooks a fish on the 3rd cast. Smaller fish so I assumed it was a Bull Trout. Such a pretty fish,  took some pics and sent him on his way.

Fished down the rest of the run which had no one fishing it, hit another run just downstream and we decided to move to a different part of the river. Got to the pool and we got something to eat as we talked about where the fish might be sitting. Worked the whole head, the big pool in the middle and nothing. Moved to the tailout, started in close and worked my way out. On the very far side of the river, float down. I see the fish roll and get a little clip of its tail. It was a smaller fish, only about 5 pounds but it just took for the bottom. Got it in close and saw it was a thick Bull. That got our hearts going. Pics and he was on his way.

Went down to the very bottom of the river for a last go, saw one guy land a clean chum and that was all.

I know I know, figured I'd find some north side action, before I blew the day.  But a little the same there.  At least I bought a rod for the kid n cleaned the garage.
Hear a 14 was weighed, shoulda pulled my big worm out.

North side still should be producing some fish. Cutties should be around also. May be worth a look tomorrow
