computer help
« on: January 17, 2014, 05:03:56 PM »

Hey guys. I am not very computer savvy and hopefully someone can tell me how i can put a slideshow to music.  My wife and I lost our son three years ago.  I've been wanting to put a slideshow together with photos put to music.  I think this may alleviate some of her pain.  Does anyone know of a website or app I can download to help me do this. Thanks in advance. Tight lines all.

Google Windows Live Essential or Microsoft Movie Maker( free to download ). It is a very simple video editing program and very intuitive.

I used it to make my brother-in-law's slideshow when he passed last year.

I have never used it prior to that and I was able to create a slideshow within 1 hr.

And I am sorry to hear about your loss. It is not any easy thing to forget but time will heal....

Click on Add pictures and then add music. At the end, you can create a DVD.

Im very sorry for your loss.
I also use Windows movie maker, its fairly simple to use, drag your photos and a music file into the screen and it should work, you have to fiddle with it or add, delete photos to get the music to end when the photos do. You can also add effects. Let us know if you have any questions.
I see that for windows Vista, what I use, that program is no longer available.
If i remember what other programs i have used I will suggest them.

My condolensces, Dave.  Do you have a PC or Mac?  A Mac can make a slideshow in iPhoto in seconds.  You can then open it in iMovie and edit it to make it even better.

Movie Maker is pretty straightforward.  Here is a brief how to:

If you use windows and have the office suite then Microsoft Power point is also another possibility.

Do you use anything like Picasa (which runs on PC and mac) to organize your photographs.  If you do then you you can create a slideshow with music using this free software.

You can also use other free image manipulation software such as Irfranview.
