Gorgeous build ;)  If you aren't doing this as a sideline, you should.  Your threadwork is as good as any I have seen.

Nice!

Yes - very nice threadwork. That red band really adds a nice depth to the wraps. Hats off to you sir - I certainly don't have the practice or patience to pull off wraps like that yet but I can certainly appreciate your skills.

As with some of the other pictures of previous builds you have posted, very clean. Nice work  :)

Hats off to you, thats beautiful work.
Like the others have said the wraps look awesome, I wish I had the patience to do that nice trim work.

Thanks guys. Broke it in with a small hatch doe on my first trip of the year yesterday in the freezing rain.

Dave, I only build for fun. I likely couldn't make more than 20c per hour doing it as a business since I'm very picky. I used 100 yards of thread on this rod with all the test wraps  :P.

Colours are silver smoke and black nylon with gunmetal/burgundy trim. It's subtle, but looks very rich in person.

Next up is another steelhead rod for another fishing buddy. Theme is Canadian World Juniors jersey colours.

I totally agree with Fin-a very nice job-almost a shame to use it.

Typhoon can I pass any ideas from Sea Run to you to scrutinize? That's a fishing rod!
