Skagit River Trip - Prologue
« on: July 26, 2014, 11:01:44 AM »

I know this is only a prologue to a future fishing story/report, yet sometimes these are the most important parts of a story. Hope it's not offensive and, if it's distasteful or off-topic, I have no issue with its removal. The next part will follow next week's trip.

Thanks in advance.

Superbly written piece Skagit Dreamer..brings back many memories of the 50's and 60's when we struggled our way up that 26 miles of washboard road nearly getting run over by 14 ft bunk logging trucks.
Arriving at the Skagit and fighting the Mosquitos as we walked up the river to the Glory Hole on the old Mule Train pack trails. Spinning rods, floats and worms caught lots of fish but we never took many home.
Still spend many days on the river and still water lakes in pursuit of that elusive tug on the line!
Let us know how your adventure goes!

@kid fisherman - I'm glad - that's very humbling. Thank you !

@Lew Chater - thank you! I'm so happy you shared. What a special place and your memories - perfect! Well, those mosquitoes never changed for any of us, hmm? :D Fantastic you are enjoying the journey and fishing up a storm! And, yes, I'll certainly enjoy the next trip and keep you updated.

@liketofish - lol thanks - appreciate that. Good to be in such company! :) actually, Chris' stories are heartfelt, inspirational and partly encouraged me to write, as it were. I'm noobish here but really enjoy what I've read of his adventures. Has me smiling now, in fact; reminds me of someone once very dear to me.
