Steveston Salmon on the docks
« on: August 04, 2014, 01:29:03 PM »

So there is a lot of talk on the news that they sockeye fishing is starting early this year. And there is going to be lots of fish unlike the last few years.

Does anyone know when they boats at Steveston will be selling salmon to the public from the dock? Or where I could find out from?

All this salmon talk is making me hungry for fish.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

i think you can buy some now at the steveston dock , i saw a lots of boats from new-westminster quay with drifting nets hovering by the bank of fraser river, also saw a  fish jumping all over , that means sockeye is going to be available for BUY in local markets by now especially the steveston dock , good luck .

Superstore has sockeye now at $4.99 a pound.

Do the ones in Steveston usually sold cleaned and heads removed?

I appreciate all the replies.

I not into going to Superstore as I prefer to give my money to the local fisherman.
Its once a year I do this so even if its a little extra no biggy. Last few time I bought from the docks I had a good experience.

CW89 I would appreciate it if you would let us all know when salmon is available.

I know a few of the guys down on the docks, will ask them as soon as I see them. Will report back when I hear something.

Make sure you bring a radiation detector with you. I am not joking either.

If you don't have a radiation suit, a tinfoil hat will do just fine. :)

Maybe I will bring one of my Radiation Survey Meters just so I can prove how silly this statement is.
