I hope when the snaggers get shamed like this that they will stop.

Even had a fish jump at the red top of the Maple Leaf Drennan this evening, a first for a coho or chum as I have had steelhead do it a few times over the years. Nice conditions all day.

Whoever that guy is deserves to a medal and needs to keep filming and just start sending these tapes in right to the DFO And tell em to wake the hell up.

Does anyone have a link for a detailed precipitation forecast for Chilliwack?  I'm looking for something that would break it down to hourly, show expected rainfall measurements and maybe even have a graph.  The most detail I can get in "general weather" sites is just % chance of rain by hour.... like, 3pm = 30% chance 4pm = 60% chance, etc.

Ideally, it would be great to have a forecast line built into the hydrometric graph for the Chilliwack river levels.  This only shows up to the present:

http://wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/report_e.html?type=realTime&stn=08MH001

Which is helpful, but it would be awesome to know what the future levels look like based on rainfall predictions.  I've seen such a thing for the Nooksack river in the US:

http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/station/flowplot/flowplot.cgi?lid=NSSW1

Any other tools you guys use to gauge conditions would be interesting too!

the Weather Network:  http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/canada/british-columbia/chilliwack

gives rain and wind forecasts. Coose the 36 hour tab for predicted precip

Environment Canada: http://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/bc-24_metric_e.html

Water gauge at Vedder Crossing: http://wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/report_e.html?type=realTime&stn=08MH001

Anything over 2meters is approaching flood level and makes fishing challenging

As long as there's visibility you can find fish. Fished it around 2.4 I think the last time out.

Big catchment area over 1000 square km.
Went out a couple days ago got 2 hatch coho.
However went today and watched as the water
Kept rising over the course of 3 hrs.
Fast and furious today. Even though it wasn't raining all
That water is still coming off the hills.

Showing some color at dark and it was on the rise all day, rain in the upper reaches was the reason.

Chris is the most optimistic water clarity informant I know ... if he says it's showing color, the river is toast ;)
That said, no rain at the moment here.

Good links, thanks RalphH.

Yeah, made the mistake of going up today and it was not good.  High and fast and about 1 foot of vis.  Did see a fair number of coho on the move (rolling) but could only get 1 to bite, and he came unbuttoned.

Unfortunately there's nothing in that video to indicate that fish was foul-hooked other than the cameraman saying BUSTED.

I was there and witnessed the whole thing. Before the guy started filming he bonked a wild coho that was hooked in the belly.
Got a lot of free berries from the guys up there  ;D
