That is why I said a few days ago the coho fishing is over for this year on the Chilliwack Vedder. Also not only too much water it is in bad shape clarity wise.

Just out of curiosity what method did the researchers use to capture and tag these coho in Ft.Langley?

The fish were taken from Chilliwack Hatchery, tagged, transported and released down in Fort Langley. It'll be very interesting to see how many make their way back, so lets keep an eye out for them and report the tags. :)

River should drop quite a bit over the next couple of days with the high pressure system and nice weather. Hopefully it will shape up in time for some late coho.

Checked out the crossing around 3:45pm and the water was still extremely high. Had a blue murk color to it.

Is there any reasonable flyfishing water in high water conditions, assuming clarity while the water is falling this weekend?

Just checked the hydrograph water level graph from Vedder Crossing. Wish my retirement plan looked like this. Unfortunately, it looks more like my blood pressure levels.  ::)

Yea its doable. I've caught Coho in pretty nasty looking water before. Cool thing is that fish often move really close to shore where there's less current in high water so don't overlook water that would normally be too shallow. Big black and/or purple flies help too; big white and silver rolled muddler size 4 has also worked for me.

Went out his morning for only about 30 minutes as was so wet and miserable but the water was nice, I found a couple of jack coho's and missed a few take downs.

No one in sight. I guess they figure the season is over now too and are waiting for steelhead.

It has been over since 9 days ago. ;D

Some fish and fishermen missed the memo this weekend. ;)

Went poking around the hatchery saturday after the tackle sale. looks like 4-5 of those spaghetti tagged fish made their way back into the hatchery channels.
