Salmon close to shore at Ambleside

I want to cast spoons from shore to catch salmon at Ambleside.  Are there lots of salmon within casting distance this weekend?  If not, when is a better time to try?

best on the dropping tide from 10am till 3pm tomorrow.some coho  around but hard to get bites.

Not on weekends. They are only there Mondays, Tuesdays and every other Thursday.

Is fishing not catching.   The fun part is to explore and find out yourself. ;)

Exactly. Not to mention it's just that much more rewarding when you finally find the fish and your own honey hole. The more time you put in, the more experience you get, and the more experience you get means the closer you get to catching fish without relying so much on information from others.

If you get out on the water tomorrow OP, best of luck.  :)

Skunked. Didn't see a lot of action, dockside chat one guy had a 22lb spring.

Chinook salmon are caught by beach anglers from time to time. Not often, but not impossible either.

No need to be surprised - that was indeed from a boat.  Didn't see anyone on the shore hook up.

At Steveston on Saturday, there were lots of salmon splashing around, teasing and taunting.  Has anyone caught one there lately?
