Chilliwack River, October 15th 2014
« on: October 15, 2014, 10:53:08 AM »

I gave it a go this morning from 7:30am to 9:30am. Fish were steadily moving upstream as expected so hard to get some consistent bites, but managed to hook four coho salmon and beached two of them. Both fish were wild and sent them back right away. Float fishing with freshly cured chinook salmon roe continues to produce well this season.

I went out today as well... first trip of the year to the vedder. Fished yarrow side, river seemed like its in great shape, had  nice runs to myself but didn't see much activity. Threw jigs, blades and spring roe but didn't get any interest.

I managed to get my limit today. There were lots of moving fish and I got mine on silver colorado blade first light, then on roe. Lost several and missed a bunch more. All the fish I saw were chrome so there must have been fresh fish coming in with the high water.

Fished a run in the lower this morning where I had some success when we had the low water. No sniffs for me today on fresh boraxed coho goo, blades, jigs and even swung some spoons. Just one of those days  ::)

Flyfishing Magician and I limited by 10:30.  Caught all our fish on cured roe.  About 10 fishing our run and all good rods fishing cured roe.  Almost all of them limited as well.  Except for a couple showing a bit of Color, they were chrome bullets.  Water was up but had a nice color to it.

Met 1son on our way out.  We actually fished next to his friends (Kingfisher?).  All in all,  a good day and fishing with good people around us was a bonus.  The net that I brought was put to good use!

What a great day indeed, I had a blast today. You and magician were hammering them. That net was put to great use. I'm sure I'll see you guys on the river again, until next time.

Great to meet you out there FishingKing! Yes, we were very pleased to be able to share the net.  I think it became the "communal" net for the whole run.   :D :D :D

I guess you guys were in the right spot at the right time. Most people on the river had a slow day. We fished mainly mid, a bit upper and a bit lower but barely saw any action. Every person we talked to echoed what we said.
