Chilliwack River, November 9th 2014
« on: November 09, 2014, 08:02:58 PM »

I went out with Mr & Mrs Every Day for a couple of hours this afternoon. Water clarity was very good. By using spoons and spinners, I was able to hook up five coho (four wilds were released and one was lost), Mr ED released a wild and killed a nice hatchery doe on the first cast, Mrs ED released a wild. We also caught a couple of chum salmon. One of my chum salmon was accidentally "caught" while I was trying to free my lure from a snag. The fish actually wrapped itself around my main line and broke the lure off and I landed it as it was completely tangled in my line. :o Talk about lining fish at the advance level…

Nice fishes. Seems there are lots of wild ones.. Also find many more does than bucks. Perhaps because of jacks and everyone keeps the hatches ??

A week ago all of the fish except one I caught were hatchery-marked. Today was the first time I encountered that many wild fish. My guess is that most hatchery fish have been picked off as we are nearing the end of the season, which is not really a big deal as I don't really have a need to retain anymore salmon this year.
