Hi, already looking towards the spring paddles in the canoe - did lots from Belcarra last year, but wondering if anyone knows anywhere further up the arm someone can park a car and portage in? Many thanks!

There is a BC Hydro service road that goes around to McCombe Lake, which how you get to Oralomah Beach and Camp Jubilee directly across. But double check you can still access it, I haven't gone up there in awhile. I think it should be ok. The powerstation is to the right so you'd go left and drive down, I question about the water access more than anything.

You could probably call ahead and ask to see if you are allowed to park over and camp howdy.

The road from Squamish (Stawamus/Indian FSR) is open and drivable all the way to the mouth of the Indian River.

Wow that's news to me, when did they reactivate the road?

Edit - Just checked the road information for the Stawamus/Indian River FSR, says not accessible right now past 10km due to washout, updated as of December 11th.  Can't believe they reactivated the road after spending 1 million to deactivate it a few years ago.

Also, I believe there is road access to some of the homes further up the east side of Indian Arm via Buntzen Bay Road, but I am not sure if it is public access or resident only.

They reactivated it during the summer and I was completely shocked myself.  It was in amazing condition with all washouts fixed with huge new culverts and bridges.

I should have mentioned in the previous post that this road is best avoided from roughly Dec-late spring/early summer due to snow/washouts. 

There was active logging up there during the summer and additionally I ran into a surveyor who mentioned another gas pipeline being laid in the next few years.

So the good news is the road should be maintained for many years to come.  The bad news is industry likes to gate the FS roads so this one may be gated when work starts up as well.
