Fraser from shore
« on: July 08, 2004, 11:41:23 AM »

Anybody had luck casting from shore on the Fraser? If so, where? What's Island 22 looking like these days? I heard that there was some major erosion along the bank. Is it even worth it going out? Water still high? If anyone has the answers to these burning questions, please let me know. Thanks.

Don't go to Island 22 unless you have a boat.  Try further up between harrison and hope.  There are spots accessable without a boat.

Lost 0 out of 20 or so snagged setups last week as Camp Hope (the polish bar) with my technique  ;D. It is snaggy and, if you don't know how handle them, be prepared to loose your weight almost every cast (most frustraitingly the first one).

Never heard of Camp Hope.
Right now most of the big bars are under water.
Scale,Pegleg,Pipeline and Seabird.
Island22 is slowly disappearing into the river.
Right now a few bars are used like Gold Dredge Bar, Chawathil,Ferry Landing. Caught my 20lber at one of these. But even if you go its pretty slow going unless you know your spots real well. Lots of guys are fishing all day without a hit and others come out with a fish every time they go out. Good luck if you make it out.

My mistake. All I heard was that the water was still high there but obviously its been coming down alot lately.
