Yup.  No idea.  Water levels are low, so my guess would be low and clear.

Given the fact that it hasn't rain for weeks combine that with a low snow pack I would think the river will be raging. ;)

I was planning to go tomorrow for my second time ever, but I'm thinking maybe it shouldn't be fished at all with the lack of water. Still waffling on that, thinking that maybe if the DFO hasn't announced a non opening it's ok?

Kinda ironic, I've just this year learned of all the fishing opportunities an hour from my house, spent about 1500$ getting all of the stuff, and now might decide to leave it on the rack...

Vedder is a put and take fishery. Don't c&r and stop if you get your limit.

I would wait a few more days, few if any springs in the system at the moment.  Water levels are lowish, but not critical like on the island, so try in a week and take the shiny off all that new bling.

I'm not heading to the Vedder until there is some substantial rain...otherwise wait until the fall...carp and bass are fun too until salmon time... ;)

Looks like you won't be fishing there this summer then.

Fished the canal on Canada Day for about 4 hours.  Didn't expect to see any action (was taking my 7 year old out with his first big boy fishing rod) but managed 2 small guys to the beach.  "Small guys" being either immature salmon or trout - no sign of any springs at all.  Great day, huge bonus to let him land a couple of fish, amazing weather and my little guy is really getting the hang of casting so what more can you ask for!  8)

Out again today for a walkabout...  Lots of little guys patrolling the river but no sign of big reds....
