Kyuquot Sound, July 7th - 10th 2015
« on: July 07, 2015, 10:36:48 PM »

Shane and I are here at Kyuquot Sound on a four day trip with Murphy Sportfishing and day one has already blown us away. We arrived at the lodge at 4:00pm and after a quick orientation and dinner, we were sent out on the boat with our guide for the evening bite. It didn't take too long. We spent just an hour trolling with Gibbs-Delta's G Force spoons and brought in our limit of chinook salmon, including what looks like my biggest one to date, weighing in at 24lb. Here are some photos. Off to bed so we can be up at 5:00am for the early start! More updates tomorrow.

This is the trip we are on for those who are interested, they have a last minute special going on right now:

How come your new neighbours in Chilliwack never get invited for these trips? Of course a few of us are catching similar ones in Chilliwack and donot have to travel as far.lol

I have visited this lodge 7 times in the past.

It is a first class operation, and the fishing is as good or better than more expensive north coast lodges.

Lots of wildlife to see also, I have seen elephant seals, otters, sea lions, humpback whales, albatross, sunfish, Roosevelt elk, and black bear.

The chinooks were just appetizers.... :P ;D

Today was groundfish day. I'll share those photos in the blog later but here are photos of what we had to stare at all day today.
