Jet on the vedder
« on: July 12, 2015, 12:06:03 PM »

A jet boat went upstream yesterday on the Vedder about 2:45 PM, past Lickman. It was upstream about 10 minutes before it came back down. Just two good ol' boys, not emergency or fisheries professionals.

Now I completely understand that the Vedder is a multi use waterway and there is no law prohibiting jets from navigating upstream, however it did seem a tad irresponsible and ill thought out given the river is low and narrow, it's a weekend afternoon, and the river has of folks in inflatables drifting downstream.

The Dukes of Hazards were probably practicing in an area where they figured an ambulance or tow truck could come in and rescue.
Rather  irresponsible however given they need speed to navigate the same water others would surely be using.

I was hanging out, flyfishing for whitefish and what not at KWB when they went back down river, sent my backpack, including my wallet, phone, and two of my fly boxes into the river.  luckily I have a water resistant bag, so my phone was okay, but my wallet was soaked, and i lost one of my fly boxes because of it.
