What the heck is a pink death jig besides a name that might get attention?

If it's a jig ;   use it like one or be more specific in your question.

I find in the lower Fraser need you need more flash.  Upper river (Vedder mouth etc) any jig with a pink curl tail (or chartreuse) work just fine and way cheaper.

But "run what brought ya here".  As they say.  And yeah, use it like a jig.

Don't worry Zaacrum noT everyone's a pro like fish or cut bait....  if your fishing rivers for pinks you can fish them under floats as you would wool or roe. Just remember tho that your setting the depth you want too be with the jig instead of your pencil lead because the jig is weighted.

Canadian Tire, whatever, they are pink and they will work.


When setting the depth, do not go too deep as you might end up snagging a lot of fish.  Keep the jig above them or to the side of the group.  The fresher and more aggressive fish will come up or rush out to smash your jig.

If you are fishing deep water you can twitch them directly.   They do need a bit of weight to do this so that you can cast them far enough, i.e. 3/8 onz:

Since I am el cheapo I have really enjoyed using Mr. Twister tails and any 1/4 ounce jighead for years.  $20 will get you a seasons worth plus extras.  I prefer the action of the twister style tails over the marabou tails for casting and retrieving/twitching.

was not directed at you personaly  just alot of msgs saying that i shouldnt be using cheap stuff    when it comes to lures and light tackle       but i would rather put money into rods and reels   instead of super expensive lures that might get lost
