Squamish River - Oct 3
« on: October 03, 2015, 02:50:04 PM »

Decided to give the Squamish ago today in the hope I could try out some newly learned fly fishing techniques against the chums and, with luck, any coho that might be in there.

Surprised to see the water level was still quite high and visibility still poor - I was hoping it would be much improved with the weather cooling off and the relative dry spell this past week.  I pretty well lost interest in seriously trying when I saw that - just took the opportunity to hike around looking for spots I hadn't fished there before.  Sometimes it is more enjoyable taking in scenery than casting.

No evidence of any chums that I could see and some reports of coho being caught.  Did not see others faring any better than I did either.

Did quite well for coho yesterday in frog water.  Could not see fish rolling, and only few inches of vis but they are there.  Also found them extremely close to shore, I guess due to the murky conditions.
