Bare waders - Moved to Burnaby
« on: November 02, 2015, 06:41:57 PM »

I think I know the answer from their website, but has Bare moved all of its operations from Langley to Burnaby? It has been a few years since I needed them, but now I need to get my waders repaired and am in Langley a lot more than Burnaby.

I thought Bare went out of business a few years ago! Don't quote me on this though.  ???

That is correct. Bare waders division is no longer. You will have to fix your Bare waders yourself.
I was sad to see them go because they had top notch warranty service.

Milo, the last time I talked to Bare was when it was first noticed that their presence was missing. At that time they said that they were going to continue repairing their waders. Have you contacted them about this? Just curious because I may need repairs one day.

It's really too bad their Wader division ceased production. 20 years ago, all you saw on the West Coast was Bare products.

When they brought out their new line, I think they dropped the ball. I'm still using a Kodiak jacket after 10 years, and Blackwater waders after 7 years.

It makes you wonder who they consulted for their last line. Where they trying to match or emulate Simms? The price of Simms right now is crazy. Bare could be picking up a big chunk of the market right now with the right design, materials, and price.

When I bought my last pair of Bare wader's (that was during the 2012 steelhead season) and they leaked on my second outing, Fred suggested I upgrade to Simms and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. He told me that Bare was leaving the waders industry and that he would no longer be selling their product because of poor quality and warranty concerns. That was good enough for me.

Same here, just the other way around, 7 years for the Kodiak jacket and 10 years for the waders (exchanged several times until I got a custom-made pair). BARE wading products were awesome back in the days!

Spoke with Todd @ BARE yesterday , he said it was unfortunate that they were having issues with the materials they used in the production of fishing apparel therfore had to pull out and restructure . He was saying that they may have a new line coming out in the new year . We will have to wait and see  ;) .

That would be great if Bare got things going again! Another option is always great. I personally have never owned a Bare product. I was a Sea-Tux guy back before the Breathable wader phase hit in full force. I went straight to Simms and happy that I did that with all the problems Bare was having. Hopefully they have learnt from the errors of the past.

I am twitching, waiting for 9:00 to phone them and see what's up. Like army truck I phoned them and was told they were out of the wader game.

Who are these guys then?

http://www.baresports.com/en-CA/Fishing/Products/Waders

The old website, which hasn't been removed. If you try to buy waders, you won't be able to.
All Canadian "where to buy" options point you to diving businesses. No waders, sorry.
