Coquitlam River Clean Up

Hey everyone,

Please come out on Sunday, Nov 22nd for a much needed Coquitlam River clean up!

We will be meeting at Lions Park, in Poco, at 9 am, where we will form teams to spread out and cover a good portion of the river.

There will be FREE hot dogs and pop afterwards, as well as a couple free raffle prize give aways.

This is a great way to give back to the community and have some fun while doing it. We've had some really good turn outs in the past, so I hope to see you all there.

Reminder! Clean up is a week away, tomorrow. Hope to see you guys out there!

Even if you can't make it, please pass the word on to anyone who might be interested or is needing some volunteer hours!

Thanks again to everyone who came out to yesterday's Coquitlam River Clean Up! It was awesome to see a few forum members make it. It was a great time and we were able to tackle a good portion of the garbage/dumping in this precious watershed. Can't wait for the next event. These rivers give us so much enjoyment and we need to ask ourselves what are we doing to give back. With that said, thanks again. Hoping for an even better turn out next year.

Sooooo... What happened to the many homeless squatter camps on the river? Those get dealt with or still out there?

We cleaned up abandoned ones only (see pic Pic. 2) (and only a fraction). Still several active ones.
