TLS, I am confused.

Why hide the bait/lure you used to catch the fish?
If it is roe, are you ashamed of being a gut chucker?
No need to be. We know you like your roe. The stains on your hands, rod handle and waders tell the story. Many of us fish roe. No big deal.

If it is a jig/lure, are you worried that someone might imitate it and find success just like you?
In my almost 15 years of online presence, I have never seen anyone doctor a picture to hide the terminal tackle they used to catch a fish.  ::)
What's the point of posting, then?
Pure showing off, with zero willingness to share with fellow anglers the tackle you use and the techniques.

You obviously have a lot of growing up to do, as there is much more to being a great angler than just catching fish.

I have three words of advice for you: "Follow Dave's advice." ;D

Tight lines.

And so this is what happens when fishing on the Vedd gets slow. Get over it people and move on. Rain is coming this week...

who cares if he hides it?

I personally don't care if he hides his jig/bait/spoon whatever, I agree it is his choice. If he wanted to hide it would of been easier to have popped it out before taking the pictures. However coming on a public forum and asking people to identify a fish then blocking out one of the best, and easiest ways to identify a fish is strange.

TLS, if you are still reading this thread I hope you have are having a great season and don't take it too personal. As long as you are enjoying yourself out there the rest will come.

September 3rd.

Not a summer run or it would have a right max clip as well... The fish in this pic would be a fish released as a winter which decided to stay in the river versus heading to the salt.

Possible all right but to reach that size in a relatively unproductive river the Chilliwack would have taken several years.  If that was the case I suspect the fish would have taken on classic rbt coloring like pictures posted by a few here of much smaller resident rainbows.

Fish have been known to stray (get lost) on their way to their designated streams.
This is how systems were populated over the past thousands of years.
If enough get lost and stay in their new waterway they could begin  a new run.
That won't happen over night however.

Definitely a coho.

What did the belly contents of that "vedder summer run" look like (how mature were the organs)?

What about an ad only clip from south of the border? Or, maybe a winter fish that returned prematurely after a short feeding period in the ocean? It's a hatchery fish so it probably has no idea what it's doing there ;)
