Tried the lake for kokanee for the 1st time this year after all the good reports. It ends up a disappointingly slow day and most boats came back with nothing. Sure strange that fishing was hot a week or more ago and then it just shut down as if all the kokanee in the lake were told by some unseen force to stop biting. LOL. Quite mysterious as fish are surfacing all over but not biting top or bottom, even for the trolling guys. Some fly guys are into fish but still slow compared to the last few weeks.

Fishing typically turns off between late March and late May.

Fish are in mid water now, time to start trolling with a small 6" flasher and a pink dicknite spoon.

What size weight will get to the mid level with the 6" flasher? Sorry not experienced enough on trolling the lake. Quite a few boats were trolling with flashers and still empty on that day.

I was there that day. Hooked into about 7, but yeah fairly slow for everyone. Didn't get nothing for the first hour or two, and then had a brief amount of action (7)...and then nothing. Was in the right place at the right time when the school moved in.

Any fishing update on the lake lately? Is it still very slow?
