Roe will work, as will anything else. Gotta find out what will entice them. I wouldn't waste roe there this time of the year. The numbers are so low, and since you are new to it, you may way to use a fly/spoons/spinners/etc.

I just like that area and hike is pretty cool , so by the time I got there like 5-6 like were fishing already , and none of them used BAIT , just spoons/spinners/flys ... but guess what happened after I put a piece of roe on my hook and let it drift
))) .... I shared a piece with guy beside me , and guess what happened when he let it drift
)) it was funny situation
