Just recently back from my Kyuquot Sound trip, July 14 -17.
As Rod says its a trip of a lifetime. Getting your limit of all species is a no brainer here. You fish in solitude as there are no other boats in sight except for David's and the guide service based in the village.
Wildlife everywhere, sea otters, sea lions ( had a 20 lb salmon get bit in half on the hook by a big bull ), sun fish ( huge fish ) and orcas. The orcas were hunting the sea lions, watched them manouver down wind below the sea lion island. Caught some Blue sharks, amazingly how blue they are. Largest spring was 31.5 lbs on the dock scale, caught on a jig, largest halibut in my group 48lbs. Fantastic ling cod fishing, used a kelp ling tied on with string to catch lings as they wouldn't let go of the bait as we reeled them up. David says its blue coloring is from a high diet of crabs. the flesh goes white when cooked.
Spent the last hour on one of days to fly fish black sea bass with clousers. Food is super,Matt the chef (not a camp cook ) delivered gourmet meals each day. The guy really knows how to cook fish.
The whole operation is run as well as those high end pricey fishing resorts. You and your fish are numbered and entered in a catch log so there are no lost fish and the guides know what species and how many you need to limit out for the next day.
I've already booked for next year. It's well worth the money and if there is a sell off ,even a better deal.
I don't have to post any pics as Rods tell the whole story.
